Nippon Express was founded over 70 years ago, in 1937. The name reflects our initial role as a provider of express transportation services between rail freight terminals and customers’ premises. Transportation has remained the core of an expanding range of business activities, and today Nippon Express is Japan’s biggest logistics company. We have earned customers’ trust by consistently providing high added value in logistics services linking all modes of land, sea and air transportation. In July 2008, Nippon Express marked the 50th anniversary of the opening of its first overseas base. We began operating internationally early in our history, and today the Group has 382 business bases in 37 countries outside of Japan. Revenues from overseas operations account for almost 30% of total revenues. We are now preparing to take the Group’s business activities to the next level; through a wide-ranging program of measures to strengthen our business infrastructure. With this, we will create a stronger Nippon Express Group capable of capturing global demand for logistics services of high added value, even in a challenging business environment. • Nippon Express Euroland Centre
